Mallards in Autumn Tint Reflection

永観堂禅林寺(京都市左京区永観堂町)

Zenrin-ji (禅林寺) is the head temple of Jodo-shu Seizan Zenrin-ji sect (浄土宗西山禅林寺派). The temple has more than 1,100 years of history and is dedicated to Amida (阿弥陀). Due to a merciful pose of Mikaeri Amida (見返り阿弥陀, Amitabha looking back), the temple attracts many believers and people throughout the world. The temple is also well-known as "Eikan-dō in Maple Leaves", because of its beautiful garden filled with many maple trees. In late November, many people visit the temple to worship the Amida and enjoy the scenery. (Read more...)
