Raccoon Dog Shigaraki Ware

Shigaraki ware (信楽焼, Shigaraki-yaki) is well known pottery as a one of the six ancient kilns of Japan, has been built in Koga (甲賀) area and Shiga Prefecture (滋賀県, Shiga-ken), Shigaraki area. By local sandy clay from the Lake Biwa-ko (琵琶湖) and with the traditional skills, Shigaraki ware is made as a very durable pottery. Although it is famous in Raccoon dog (狸, tanuki) Figurine, there are various artistic potteries such as vases, tea and even lighting fixtures.
