From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Yase Dōji (八瀬童子, or Yaseno Dōji, Hase Dōji) is the term used for the people of Yase (八瀬), in Sakyō district (左京区), Kyōto, Japan who by tradition bore the sōkaren (葱華輦) or portable bier upon which the imperial coffin was placed.
